Letter From Your Secretariat

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Our first team meeting was amazing. We are all so happy to be back together again. We are excited to report that we have 7 confirmed pilgrims and at least one that has said yes but just needs to send in their paperwork. The list is below. Please keep them in your prayers as well as anyone else that is still considering it.

We have an amazing team and we would gladly add to it or take volunteers for a portion of the weekend. Please contact Jamie Lynn if you are interested in helping in any way. Or come to our next team meeting, July 29th at Providence Lutheran Church in Lexington. The current team list is attached. Please keep them in your prayers.

We are excited about the new camp - it is SO clean and everything is close together. It is right on a lake and we hope to worship at the lake at least once. The link to the camp is below. Please pray that this camp works out for us.

We are thrilled that people have started filling in our prayer banner but we still need more people to sign up. Please check out the signup link below and add your name. Please pray that we will be able to fill all the spots - this is such a critical palanca.

We are also excited about upcoming events - an Ultreya in October (more info coming) as well as a spiritual retreat for secretariat to strategize on how to improve our community (as awesome as it is, we can do better). Please let Ron Redd know if you would be interested in serving on Secretariat and please continue to pray for us.

Christ is counting on us and we can all do something to further His kingdom.

God Loves You and so do We,
SCVDC Secretariat

What Happens on a Via de Cristo Weekend?

During the three-day weekend participants live, study, worship and commune together dailv. Fourteen talks are given, nine by lay people and five by clergy. Following each talk, small round table discussions focus on the main points of the talk and a poster is completed. The talks, in an overlapping fashion, present the Christian life, based on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. The titles of these talks indicate their content: Ideal, Pietv, Studv, Sacraments, Action, Obstacles to Grace, Leaders, Environment, Life in Grace, Christian Community, and Total Security. There is music and singing, food and fellowship, a time for laughter and for prayer.
